How to Build an Effective Team

Here you can find a guide on how to set up a balanced team.

Note
These tips may help you in battle but do not guarantee victory. Various factors can influence the outcome of a fight: hero level, main and secondary stats, opponent power, game mode, and control effects.

Due to the variety of opponent teams you may face in the game, no single party will win every battle. While gathering a team, pay attention to the opponent heroes, the skills they use, and their weaknesses. Finding effective counter-heroes will surely affect the battle outcome.

1. Pay attention to the classes of your heroes. To increase the chances of winning a battle, your team should have one tank, at least one support or healer, and a couple of warriors/mages/marksmen. A tank defends the team, a support or healer restores health and applies buffs, and warriors/mages/marksmen deal damage. There are some exceptions to this rule, but a team of five healers would hardly be able to fight efficiently.

2. Consider the synergy of your team. Some heroes are designed to boost each other. One of the most well-known combinations is Lars and Krista. Krista uses her Frozen Needles skill to create ice thorns that cause damage to any rival moving through them. Lars uses the Lord of the Storm skill and drags opponents through the thorns. Thus, they effectively damage rivals.

Also, each hero belongs to a specific faction. Each faction has heroes with special skills that grant bonuses to all characters from the same faction. Thus, heroes of the same faction have better synergy with each other.

3. Check the opponent's team composition. You should pay particular attention to the damage type they inflict and are resistant to. For example, if your opponent has resistance to magic damage, try gathering a team that deals physical or pure damage.

4. Inspect the opponent's skills and see if there are any control effects. For example, if the opposing heroes have skills that can displace characters, take a hero who protects others from displacement.

5. Make sure that your opponent does not have resistance to your characters' skills. For example, Faceless will be of little use in a battle with an opponent that cannot be thrown in the air (like Brog the Conqueror in the Outland).
